The National IT Partnership Apprenticeship programme began at Walsall College this February. NiTP are delivering the Advanced Apprenticeship in IT and Telecoms in partnership with Walsall College.

An excellent team have been recruited to get the programme up and running. First through the door was Gemma Shooter (Intake Consultant). She has recruited two excellent groups in record time, totalling 43 young people from the Black Country. Jodie Marshall (Centre Manager) and Dan Troke (Consultant Trainer) soon followed. They have responsibility for developing and writing the programme. Derek Davidson has been seconded from Walsall College, and he is responsible for assessing the groups and developing the assessment model. The team was then completed with the recruitment of Scott Southwell (Recruitment Consultant) and Kam Bains (Senior Trainer).

The NiTP pilot is now half way to completion, and excitingly there are now plans for major expansion across the West Midlands and into other regions throughout England staring in September 2010.
